Description
There are many benefits to being able to describe and discuss various subtypes of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD; e.g., harm, scrupulosity, contamination, sexual orientation, perfectionism). Subtype knowledge can be useful for demonstrating understanding and professional competence, developing rapport with patients, improving communication with patients and other professionals, reducing shame as a potential barrier to treatment, and improving treatment plans. In this course, participants will learn to recognize and describe the various subtypes of OCD. The course also includes engaging case examples of evidence-based strategies (e.g., exposure and response prevention) for the treatment of OCD subtypes.
